I have always enjoyed combining objects together and creating something new from something old.
During my undergrad study at Purchase, I took a collage and sculpture class that allowed me to explore combining media in two and three dimensional forms. Whenever possible I use things that are locally sourced from nature or found materials — something I spotted on the ground or something someone was planning on throwing away. I try to make sure everything that I collect for my work is given a new life when recycled back into part of my artwork as a way to create more sustainably. As a result of this intimate relationship to the environment, I tend to draw inspiration from the natural world and our connection to it.
