My boyfriend’s sister asked me to create a drink sign for each of the mixed drinks and different beers offered at their wedding celebration in October of 2021. Each bust is a portrait of the couple’s pets — Stella, Sev & Louie.
I was given a mood board for a feel of the overall theme of the wedding. It was full of floral motifs and purple tones contrasting with dark colors and metallics. The first version of the sign was horizontal but eventually we settled on a vertical format for better readability. I kept the hand drawn type on the busts for the title of each drink but also added a second title with a description for the drinks so that people could clearly see what options they had to choose from. Around each bust I drew autumnal details, such as cinnamon sticks, pumpkins and apple cider donuts, showcasing the bride’s love of the season of falling leaves. During the event I received a lot of compliments from friends and family and I hope to do more signs like this for events in the future!
